The holiday season is upon us, and that means it’s time for our annual holiday happy hour and coat drive! We will be gathering at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern December 8 from 6-8 p.m. Members will receive one free drink ticket so make sure your membership is up to date. Bring a gently used/new coat or $10 cash donation to receive an additional drink ticket. Friends, roommates, coworkers, and visitors are all welcome to join us!
Join the South Dakota State Society for our annual chislic feed! We will dine on the traditional food of South Dakota while watching the two biggest rivals in football battle it out on the gridiron—South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota.

It has been far too long, and the South Dakota State Society misses seeing you! This past year allowed us to get back to normal. We hosted three successful happy hours, raised money for some worthy causes, and connected with new and old friends. Our next big move is to have our annual members meeting on April 2 from 1-3pm on the roof top of 70 I Street SE. We will provide food, elect new board members, and approve any bylaws changes.
Part of planning for the future will be electing new board members. Blaine will be leaving the board this year along with several other board members. Join the South Dakota State Society for our Holiday Happy Hour at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern! This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow South Dakotans in D.C. while supporting two great causes for those in need this holiday season: the local charity Thrive DC and the Boys and Girls Club of the Rosebud Reservation. Before you join us, check your closets, and bring an old winter coat or new/gently used, K-8-sized or one-size-fits-all winter clothing, like hats, scarves, mittens and gloves for a free beverage. You can also bring children's books, school supply kits, children-age-appropriate games, or other holiday gifts. Cash donations are also appreciated.
